The Florida heat has brought along some cool summer projects for CoWorkTampa. First and foremost, we hired a new Community Manager (that’s me!) to keep CoWorkTampa growing and to keep members happy and informed.
We’re in the midst of organizing weekly events to increase networking opportunities and create a better coworking community. So far, our events consists of:
- Yoga & Stretch Class- first Friday of every month @ 9 AM
- Cocktail Creation Class-last Wednesday of every month @ 5 PM
- Spaghetti Lunch- day/time not determined
- Happy Hour Networking- – day/time not determined
Another large project underway is the expansion of CoWorkTampa to accommodate the growing number of memberships and need for office space. Founder Chris Arnoldi plans to renovate a 4,500-square-foot area on the second floor, adding 10 private offices, 10 Designated Desks, an additional conference room (equipped with a green screen), and phone booths to make private calls. There’s also talk about transforming the late Hackerspace into additional coworking space with private offices as well. Construction is set to begin ASAP.
Even without the build-out, we’re still one of the coolest offices spaces in Tampa Bay. Last month, the Tampa Bay Business Journal nominated CoWorkTampa as one of the top 20 “Coolest Office Spaces.” Other nominees included Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, New York Life Insurance Co., and USAmeriBank. Chris and I were even invited to an exclusive event to recognize the nominees!
